We left Chilmark at about 12.30am, after a vigil service. The night was still. The moon came up at about 1.30 after we had joined the Roman Road at the top of the ridge. 20 of us with one whippet.

At Wilton we were greeted by an enormous Easter bonfire before baptism and Eucharist inside that wonderful church.

10.30 at Corsley which was packed. The singing was con belto. Happy faces.

Spent much of the day drifting in and out of sleeplessness. Will reflect more on this whole carless Lent experience later.

Now sleep.
